Maya Mist
I've been under the weather for quite a while so I got way behind on house work and all the necessary things that keep a household going. I am back in the swing of things now and have a quick post tonight. This is a birthday card for my boss. So once again I was challenged to make a card for a man. So, to make things simple, I went with the same layout as the card for my father-in-law...just changed it up a bit. I saw the video on Kristina Werner's blog on Maya Mists so I thought I would give it a try. Turned out good, simple. Now if I just had all the other colors, I would be set!

Starting Over...
Love computers but not ones with BIG FAT VIRUSES! That is what I experienced and lost everything. Including all the pictures of the cards I have made over the years. So I am starting over and I have a few cards to share today. Two birthday cards and a "U are the best" card.
Please excuse the photos for now as I am still teaching myself how to edit them in the new version of Photoshop we recently purchased. I am certain I will get better as time goes on. Hopefully.
My father-in-law had a birthday today and I always struggle to make a card for a man so I looked for inspiration from Dawn McVey on My Favorite Things. I have seen several of her "guy" cards and they are all great. Check out the link below.
The next birthday card is for a co-worker. Similar to the first card...guess I was on a Felt Thickers kick. Ha
The last card is for my son's first grade teacher from last year. I overheard him telling my kindergartner the other day how great she is and that he would be so lucky if he got her for a teacher next year because "she is very very very nice and she doesn't yell at you". I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to let her know what an impact she made on my son's life.
Please excuse the photos for now as I am still teaching myself how to edit them in the new version of Photoshop we recently purchased. I am certain I will get better as time goes on. Hopefully.

Finally ...
I was finally able to find some time to create. This one's for a co-worker who just had surgery. Her favorite color is orange so I went with SU! "in color" Tangerine Tango. I scored the card front every 1/2" for some extra texture. The flower was made using my Big Shot and the Flower Layers die. What a fun flower! I love it.
{Card Recipe:}
Paper: SU! Tangerine Tango, Pink Pirouette, Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze.
Ribbon: SU! Baja Breeze
Other: Staples, SU! Big Shot, SU! Flower Layers Die, SU! Scallop Edge Punch
